Do you want a foretaste of future hybrid BMW in driving dynamics which, fortunately, only play a role as important as the overall effectiveness? If yes, then check out our coverage of the radical-looking car BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept in our March issue, which goes on sale at newsstands on Feb. 2.
Meanwhile, to whet your whistle, here is an introduction to the very wild EfficientDynamics BMW Vision Research. In short, it is a 4-seat plug-in hybrid complete with a turbodiesel engine and doors pivot upward. And it's packed with technologies that allow it to be both efficient and fast.
Complementing the Vision futuristic exterior is an interior with a dashboard that flows and a seating arrangement designed to give passengers a feeling of floating in air. The upholstery is made largely of natural materials (although Kevlar is used for seats), and advanced technology inside Vision include a 3-dimensional head-up display and night vision BMW .
The frame of the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept is constructed primarily of aluminum, roof and exterior of the body are of a special polycarbonate. The BMW-a 2 +2 with only 5.3 cu. ft. of luggage space is 181.1 inches long, 74.8 cm wide and 48.8 inches tall.
